Role Overview

As a Construction Contract Administrator at Accoravillage, you will be instrumental in the effective management of construction contracts. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee our skilled team of Construction Inspectors, ensuring that all projects are executed in line with contractual requirements and quality benchmarks. Your knowledge will be crucial in interpreting contract specifications, reviewing standards, and collaborating with contractors and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

A significant part of your role will involve conducting inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety protocols. You will be tasked with validating quantities, generating progress reports, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to monitor project milestones and ensure clarity in project management.

Our Construction Contract Administrators are proactive problem solvers who address issues and negotiate additional work necessary for successful project completion. Building strong relationships with project stakeholders is essential to facilitate smooth interactions and ensure adherence to contract stipulations.

Key Responsibilities

In your leadership position within our Contract Administration Division, you will manage the daily operations of your projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the work of Construction Inspectors;
  • Interpreting and applying relevant standards and contract provisions;
  • Analyzing contract drawings and specifications;
  • Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents and safety regulations;
  • Validating quantities, preparing progress reports, and maintaining thorough documentation;
  • Reviewing and analyzing contractors' schedules;
  • Timely reconciliation of progress payments while adhering to prompt payment regulations;
  • Identifying potential issues, recommending solutions, and adapting as necessary;
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Preparing reports, quantity measurements, claims, and payment certifications;
  • Collaborating with contractors and clients;
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering;
  • Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and specifications;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus;
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn;
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Experience

  • Registered as an EIT or P. Eng. with relevant professional bodies;
  • Completion of advanced claims and dispute resolution training;
  • Proven experience as a Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or in a supporting role on multiple projects;
  • 5+ years of experience in structural, watermain, asphalt, and/or grading construction on road and bridge projects.
