We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Manager to lead our Canadian Accounting department. This role is pivotal and requires close collaboration with the Global CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:
  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and conduct thorough analyses of financial outcomes, maintaining accurate general ledger accounts and financial transactions.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements for management review and external reporting, while coordinating the annual audit process.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, comparing actual results to projections to identify and address variances effectively.
  • Collaborate with operational and sales teams to provide financial insights for commercial initiatives and develop robust finance and administrative systems.
  • Establish and enhance internal controls to safeguard revenue, capital expenditures, and overall financial integrity.
  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate accounting and compliance with payroll tax obligations.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with tax regulations, including provincial and corporate taxes, payroll deductions, and sales taxes.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and analytical reviews of balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing for customers.
  • Manage cash flow, receivables, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Leadership Development:
  • Utilize the strengths of team members to create and implement training programs aimed at achieving optimal individual and organizational performance.
  • Foster effective internal communication across all levels of the organization, promoting a positive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess business profitability and performance.
  • Engage directly with customers, particularly large healthcare organizations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and direction for the business in partnership with senior leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA designation, and a minimum of 6 years of experience in Public Accounting.
  • Strong commitment to recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a diverse team, with the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, enabling strategic interpretation of data.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting key financial information to senior management.
  • Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse audiences, including non-financial managers.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines.
