Job Summary

The Multi Service Worker is a vital member of our team at Simcoe County, responsible for providing exceptional service and support to our residents and staff. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Food Preparation and Service
  • Assist in the preparation of hot and cold foods, proper storage of food, while utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage, estimating food requirements.
  • Set up stations with entrees, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products, beverages, and utensils, replenishes food and drinks as required, and clearing tables/stations at the end of meal periods.
Environmental Services
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all County of Simcoe policies and procedures, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
Dietary Department
  • Assist with waste management processes.
  • Deliver and distribute personal clothing to resident rooms.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 OSSD
  • Completion of the Food Handler/Proton Training Program.
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is less than six (6) months old at time of hire.
  • As a condition of employment, candidates are required to submit documented results of TB testing, as per Public Health requirements.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a long term care facility and retirement village, exposure to illnesses and germs are possible on a daily basis.

Work schedule to be determined; shifts may include days, evenings, nights and weekends.
