Indigenous Wellness Liaison

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our Specialized Substance Use Stabilization Service department. As an Indigenous Wellness Liaison, you will play a critical role in providing primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services to clients in hospital, residential, or community settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide initial and ongoing client assessments, using clinical and diagnostic reasoning to inform treatment plans.
- Teach clients and others, both one-on-one and in groups, using evidence-based approaches to support individuals with substance use issues.
- Integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions, with a strong focus on harm reduction and trauma-informed theory.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, medical staff, and members of the interdisciplinary team, using verbal, written, and computer communication means.
- Apply conflict resolution skills and promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences.
- Organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities, managing time and resources to promote cooperation among the interdisciplinary team.
- Baccalaureate degree in mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license with access to personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Ability to promote culturally safe, trauma-informed health care settings through individualized care planning and collaborative approaches to service provision.
