Job Title: Registered Nurse

At North York General Hospital, we are committed to excellence in patient care. We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Post Partum Unit.

Job Summary

This is a part-time regular position with 12-hour shifts, including days and nights, and weekends. As a Registered Nurse in our Post Partum Unit, you will provide excellent patient and family-driven care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of care providers to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, volunteers, and families.
  • Make informed decisions, taking ownership of actions and using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Follow health and safety policies and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and families.
  • Assume a leadership role, demonstrating self-motivation and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
  • Recent breastfeeding course.
  • University degree (preferred).
  • WHO/UNICEF 20-hour Lactation Management Course (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in maternal newborn nursing (preferred).
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
