Estimator Job Description

Tomlinson Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Kingston, ON. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing cost estimates for a wide range of projects, including roads, sewer, and water infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare cost estimates for projects, including lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus estimates.
  • Liaise with customers, sub-contractors, and consulting engineers to build professional relationships and promote Tomlinson Group of Companies' services and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with our Construction, Project Controls, and Management teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Provide support for ongoing contracts, including pricing and negotiating additional work.
  • Work towards continuous personal development, attending training sessions and identifying opportunities to enhance individual knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • Certified Engineering Technologist designation an asset.
  • Experience in estimation of roads, sewer, and water infrastructure development an asset.
  • 2+ years of a combination of field and estimating experience.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Hard Dollar Estimation software, and SAP knowledge an asset.
