Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Best Western Plus Norwester Hotel & Conference Centre. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel's buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as making adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, and other areas of the hotel, including snow and ice removal from walkways and parking areas.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, power sweepers, carpet cleaning machines, polishing machines, steam cleaners, power tools, and other equipment as required.
  • Supervision and Teamwork: Supervise other workers and work collaboratively with the facilities team to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel's maintenance and repair functions.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular lifting, bending, and kneeling.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and other certifications as required.
