About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled GIS Developer to join our team at Spatial DNA. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in building our CityConnect iO Platform, a cutting-edge integration solution that connects complex engineering, finance, and operations systems for manufacturing, infrastructure, cities, and towns.

Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement data integrations, ETL workflows, and automation using FME, as well as develop custom libraries, web services, and applications using various programming languages and cloud technologies. You will also be responsible for creating test frameworks to build automated tests for deployment to our codebase, providing estimates for feature completion, and supporting our managed integration services.

Responsibilities
  • Develop data integrations, ETL workflows, and automation using FME
  • Participate in business requirements gathering and design activities, reviewing client data and systems
  • Develop custom libraries, web services, and applications using various programming languages and cloud technologies
  • Create test frameworks to build automated tests for deployment to our codebase
  • Provide estimates for feature completion
  • Support managed integration services, troubleshooting and resolving reported issues
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong background in spatial data analysis, spatial data management, or GIS software and services development. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field is required, along with 7+ years of relevant work experience. Advanced degrees or multiple discipline degrees are highly desirable, particularly in math, science, and engineering.

You will also need to have experience with API integration, API design, and specification, as well as familiarity with current GIS technologies and formats, including Esri, GeoJSON, PostGIS, vector tiles, and more. Strong knowledge of web service technologies and data formats, such as JSON and XML, is also essential.

As a GIS Developer at Spatial DNA, you will enjoy a competitive salary, ranging from $115,000 to $155,000, depending on your experience. You will also be eligible for our employee profit-sharing plan, which redistributes 20% of company profits to employees, pro-rated to your salary. Additionally, you will have access to our planned Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), with a vestment period of 24 months.
