This role is essential in assisting students through the funding application process in accordance with the NTC Post-Secondary Funding Policy and Procedures for enrollment in approved post-secondary programs and institutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Engaging proactively with students through various communication channels (telephone, email/digital, or in-person) to serve as their primary contact for inquiries and to provide advice on the NTC Post-Secondary Funding Policy and Procedures.
  2. Evaluating applications for funding eligibility, managing missing information notifications, generating approvals, and maintaining comprehensive student records in a database.
  3. Developing student budgets and overseeing the preparation of invoices and living allowances for disbursement.
  4. Supporting both prospective and current students in reaching their educational aspirations.
  5. Providing progress reports to First Nations regarding individual student achievements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A post-secondary degree in a relevant field or a diploma accompanied by 1 to 3 years of experience in academic advising, counseling, admissions, or student services.
  2. Proficient in computer applications, particularly with databases, and possess advanced skills in spreadsheet management, email communication, and word processing software.
  3. Experience in a First Nations context or identification as a First Nations individual will be regarded as an advantage.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and tactfully.
  5. Capability to juggle multiple responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines.
  6. A valid BC Driver's license, access to a dependable vehicle, and readiness to travel within the designated region.
  7. Provision of suitable references and completion of a criminal record check.

We offer competitive benefits and a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The annual salary range is $63,000 - $79,000.
