Position Overview

The Nova Scotia Community College is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Facilities and Engineering team as the Building Services Lead. This role is essential in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of our campus facilities, fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance and custodial services, ensuring high standards of facility care and preservation.
  • Implement and manage environmental sustainability initiatives, focusing on waste management and energy efficiency.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the activities of building services and facilities support staff.
  • Conduct general maintenance and cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with a Building Environment Systems (BES) Level 1 certification or equivalent.
  • Possession of a Forklift Operators Certificate is preferred, or the willingness to obtain it during the probationary period.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in facilities management, particularly in custodial and maintenance supervision.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications is necessary.
  • A valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence is required for this position.
