About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties, including repairs, replacements, and installations of equipment and fixtures.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance work to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and equipment.
  • Assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Perform general repair work on structures, patch and paint damaged walls, and complete other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist the Plant, Building & Safety Manager in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and carry out preventive maintenance program actions.
  • Access the PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and to process work orders.
  • Request necessary materials, supplies, parts, and tools required and maintain control of storage and use.
  • Take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents, and all others in the workplace.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction or building maintenance. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education.
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction or building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced Proficiency in English required, French considered an asset.
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.
