Electrical Design Technician

Phasor Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of high-voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is on incorporating the latest technological advances to provide cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering.

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Drafter/Design Technician to join our engineering team in our Winnipeg office. The successful candidate will work within a project team of engineers and designers, assisting with substation and overhead lines/underground cable routing layout & configuration design for high, medium, and low-voltage projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with project development, scope, and budget;
  • Attend client design review meetings;
  • Conduct field site inspections and field reports;
  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications, electrical installation scope of work documents, and Performance specifications;
  • Assist the engineering teams with drafting and CAD updates to drawings;
  • Prepare, review, and complete drawing mark-ups;
  • Prepare and issue drawing packages;
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Design or Drafting from a recognized institute;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs;
  • Experience with 3D Microstation is a must;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential;
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team;
  • Previous experience working on HV Substation designs for Utilities in North America would be considered an asset;
