Executive Director Opportunity

The Agency | A Two Twelve Company is assisting The Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association in the recruitment of a dynamic team leader and business manager to serve as their Executive Director.

About the Role

The successful applicant will become a trusted ambassador for the Grande Prairie region, serving as the visible voice for the local tourism industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, Indigenous and Multicultural communities, and community groups.
  • Advocating on behalf of the local tourism industry, amplifying the voice of operators and championing their interests.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license issued by the Province of Alberta with clean abstract.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake extended travel within the local Grande Prairie region and surrounding areas as part of regular job duties.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proven managerial skills in recruitment, training, and development of staff by providing both positive and constructive feedback in a team environment.
  • Experience with volunteer Board Governance and Government relations.
Requirements

Knowledge of the region's tourism goals and a strong understanding of the region, or a proven ability to assess and learn community strengths.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
