Position Overview:

The Oncology Account Specialist is pivotal in positioning Kyowa Kirin as a frontrunner in the fields of Oncology and Rare Diseases. This role involves supporting healthcare providers in their efforts to improve patient health outcomes and establishing trust as a valuable resource throughout the patient journey. The specialist will effectively manage hospital systems and accounts, identifying key stakeholders and fostering strong relationships to enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Management: Lead the planning and management processes for Cancer Care Boards and Centers within targeted hospital systems, mapping the patient journey and identifying key influencers to drive sales.
  • Market Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of oncology and dermatology centers in the assigned regions, mapping key stakeholders and patient flows.
  • Healthcare Industry Insight: Apply knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and access environments within Oncology and Dermatology, including pharmacy economics and reimbursement landscapes.
  • Performance Analysis: Review and analyze product performance within Cancer Care Boards and Centers, adapting strategies as necessary.

Patient Identification and Support:

  • Engage with healthcare professionals and Cancer Care Boards, delivering complex, approved promotional information in a compliant and effective manner.
  • Educate referral networks on best practices in disease management.
  • Analyze patient flow between institutions and community practices to inform business plans and sales strategies.
  • Facilitate the identification and tracking of potential patients through collaboration with care teams.
  • Ensure ongoing support for patients receiving treatment, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Compliance and Integrity:

  • Adhere to all relevant federal and provincial regulations, as well as internal compliance policies.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all interactions with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline is required; an MBA or medical/pharmacy degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3 years in account management within institutional oncology or rare disease sales.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Veeva is essential, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
