About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Technologist to join our Municipal Engineering department at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering design services, including CADD Civil 3D, for municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to engineering design assignments in a team environment, utilizing your expertise in CADD Civil 3D and other design software.
  • Participate in the development of concept, preliminary, and detailed engineering drawings, designs, and plans for municipal projects.
  • Assist with grading and servicing design, including the use of Civil 3D pipe network features and road designs using corridors.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to assist in design, drafting, and preparation of contract documents for land development, municipal, or transportation projects.
  • Perform construction inspections on projects in Ottawa and surrounding areas, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Resolve construction issues with the assistance of the site project manager and field supervisors.
  • Complete quantity measurements, daily reporting, and participate in construction meetings.
  • Prepare construction as-built records for approval purposes.
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering Technology graduate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in CADD Civil 3D and contract administration.
  • Proven experience in site inspection on road construction projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently in an office and field environment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications, as well as Autodesk Civil 3D.
