Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Jordan's Principle Coordinator at the Dene National / Assembly of First Nations Office (NWT).

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating services for children and families within the Denendeh Regions who require services in accordance with the Jordan's Principle. This involves working collaboratively with Dene children, their families, and external services to ensure that Dene children are funded for appropriate services that meet their complex needs and are reflective of their distinct cultural requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate services for children and families within the Denendeh Regions

Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordan's Principle
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and structures, community services available to children and their families
  • Minimum requirement of a college diploma in Human Services
  • Experience in coordinating and/or managing social programs and services
  • Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities, Denendeh children and families
