Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional faculty member to teach ECED 1200: Practicum 1 - Developing Relationships with Children. The successful candidate will have experience working collaboratively with early childhood education faculty to support students in planning and implementing innovative educational programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ECED 1200: Practicum 1 - Developing Relationships with Children
  • Support students in planning and implementing innovative educational programs
  • Liaise with community educators regarding student progress
  • Evaluate student progress in on-site and in community-based practica
Requirements
  • Relevant successful teaching experience in early childhood education programs for 3-5 year olds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogical narrations and innovative programs for young children
  • Demonstrated expertise in the course topic areas
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
  • Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • A Master of Education or equivalent in a relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions
