About the Role
The Senior Bodily Injury Examiner is a key member of our claims team, responsible for investigating, quantifying, and settling complex property and casualty claims. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and analyze complex claims to determine liability and quantum
- Develop and implement effective claims strategies to achieve optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriters and brokers, to ensure seamless claims handling
- Communicate with insured members and other external parties to resolve claims
- Manage and control claims expenses, including vendor and expert fees
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as insurance or business
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in casualty claims handling, including litigation file management
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance, including coverage and liability
- Excellent investigation and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
