Job Summary

The Warehouse Team Lead is a key member of the Metro Supply Chain team, responsible for overseeing warehouse operations and ensuring the efficient movement of materials. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to lead a team of warehouse staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate warehouse operations, including receiving, order picking, replenishment, and shipping.
  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve daily productivity and quality goals.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the operations supervisor to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to new hires and existing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Monitor and report on warehouse performance metrics, including productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Identify and address any operational issues or concerns, escalating to the operations supervisor as necessary.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with a proven track record of safety and efficiency.
  • Previous experience with RF-based warehouse management systems, preferably Red Prairie.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college diploma in logistics management an asset.
