Rural Development Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Rural Development Officer to join our team at the Municipality of the County of Annapolis. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of rural communities and promoting economic growth in our region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and programs to support rural development and economic growth
  • Collaborate with government departments, community groups, and stakeholders to identify and address rural development needs
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including preparing reports, research papers, and educational materials
  • Review and evaluate commercial and industrial development proposals to ensure they align with municipal policies and regulations
  • Process applications for land development permits and ensure compliance with regulations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as rural development, community development, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a government or community organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail
