Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Records Specialist to join our team at Fastfile Tax Services. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and ensuring accurate reporting.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college diploma or certificate program in accounting or a related field (1 to 2 years).
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll and prepare associated cheques.
  • Calculate and manage fixed assets and their depreciation.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records and balance various accounts through both manual and computerized systems.
  • Oversee general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Record journal entries accurately.
  • Generate statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Compile trial balances for financial review.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in accounts.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Caseware/Caseview, MS Excel, MS Word, TaxPrep, and Sage Accounting Software.
Work Environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
  • Capable of handling repetitive tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
