Position Overview
The Assistant Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance & Administration. This role involves providing essential financial assistance, including payroll management, accounts payable and receivable tasks, and support during month-end closing and budgeting processes. This is an entry-level opportunity suitable for recent graduates, offering potential for advancement within our finance team in the dynamic sports and live entertainment sector.
The compensation for this position will range from $50,000 to $55,000.
About the Organization
Oak View Group operates a versatile sports and entertainment venue, which is a historic site transformed into a modern facility. The venue features an arena with a seating capacity of approximately 2,700 for ice hockey and 4,000 for stage performances, alongside a double gym that accommodates 1,000 spectators, extensive office and meeting spaces, and a state-of-the-art fitness and high-performance center.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll functions, including data entry, annual reconciliations, and tracking of benefits and pensions.
- Provide administrative and accounting support, including data entry for accounts payable and receivable, event reporting, and various ad-hoc projects.
- Conduct input and reconciliation of bank deposits along with accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Offer general office support, including the ordering and tracking of supplies.
- Assist the Director of Finance in preparing month-end and annual financial reports.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- A degree in accounting or business is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of individuals professionally.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
