Position Overview:

The Industrial Electrician, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, will engage in a wide array of electrical trade functions. This includes the installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and components. The role necessitates reviewing manufacturer manuals, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to comprehend the operation of controllers, PLCs, and other programmable devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Comply with safety protocols and utilize appropriate safety equipment.
  • Demonstrate lockout/tagout knowledge when servicing electrical systems.
  • Understand and repair electrical equipment, including Control Logic, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Siemens, and Vision Systems.
  • Repair motor overload and current protection devices, including fuses and breakers.
  • Work on 24VDC systems and possess knowledge of 120-, 220/240-, and 480-volt power distribution installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Complete work orders to enhance safety, minimize downtime, reduce scrap, improve production quality, and boost plant efficiency.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures, including the lockout/tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills with co-workers and management.
  • Valid 442A license as an Industrial Electrician.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience in machine setups, troubleshooting equipment failures, and performing repair and preventive maintenance services while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting skills and the ability to read and program code.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and HVAC-related control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
  • Timely troubleshooting and repair of both electrical and mechanical issues related to production and facility equipment.
  • Capability to restore equipment to service during emergency breakdowns.
  • Problem-solving skills to address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
