Nurse Practitioner

Renfrew Victoria Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Critical Care Unit (CCCU). As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop strategies to address these needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions.
- Participate in patient care planning conferences and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Recent experience in adult medical and surgical care, with a focus on critical care.
- Current certification in Cardiac Monitoring Skills and ACLS.
- Experience in care of critically ill patients, with a focus on gerontological nursing.
- Current Certification in C.P.R. at Basic Rescuer Level or equivalent.
- CNA certification in MS nursing and/or Gerontological Nursing preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gerontology and related skills and judgment.
- Team leadership skills to effectively direct nursing staff and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of patient care.
- Ability to assess patient/family needs in a Minimum Data Set (MDS) framework and direct staff in documenting within these standards.
- Ability to work independently and to perform duties in the physical demands of the work area.
- P.I.E.C.E.S. and Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training is preferred.
- Demonstrates effective use of a computer for EHR documentation purposes.
