About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at McIntyre Finishing Ltd. as a Residential Flooring Technician. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the installation of wall and floor coverings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Underlay and Underpadding Installation: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to provide a stable and even surface for flooring.
  • Carpeting Installation: Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors, ensuring a seamless and professional finish.
  • Resilient Floor Covering Installation: Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings, including vinyl and linoleum.
  • Hardwood Floor Preparation: Prepare and install hardwood floors, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Floor Preparation: Prepare floors for installations, including removing existing floor coverings and contaminants.
  • Removal of Existing Floor Coverings: Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Wall and Floor Installation: Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces, as required.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise installations.
  • Work Term and Hours: Work on a permanent basis, with a standard 40-hour workweek.
  • Language: Work in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
