The Canadian Mathematical Society is a prominent organization dedicated to the advancement of mathematical sciences. We are currently seeking a Lead Mathematical Analyst to join our dynamic team within the Technology Regulations and Compliance Division.

Role Overview:
As a key member of our team, you will engage in comprehensive mathematical and statistical evaluations of gaming technologies. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, security, and operational efficacy of various gaming systems.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Conduct thorough mathematical and statistical evaluations of games of chance and skill, including random number generators and associated systems.
  • Design and implement innovative software tools tailored for statistical assessments.
  • Develop risk-based testing methodologies to uphold high standards in product evaluations.
  • Analyze third-party testing approaches and outcomes from a mathematical standpoint.
  • Create and refine risk indicators as part of a robust technical and regulatory risk management strategy.
  • Utilize a data-centric approach to pinpoint high-risk areas necessitating assessment and propose risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., C++, Java) and one statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python).
  • A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, with the capability to design, implement, and maintain custom software solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in:
    • Randomness and Random Number Generators (RNG)
    • Probability theory
    • Statistical analysis and data analytics
    • Data visualization and dashboard creation
    • Mathematical modeling
    • Risk analysis and management
