We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the New Hamburg area. As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of long-term and acute care facilities, providing exceptional nursing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Admission and Transfer Process: Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered. Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Medication Management: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Nursing Care Planning: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Requirements:

  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and negative TB skin test within one year, as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible shift times, eight or twelve hours in length.
  • Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Must be reliable to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
