Job Summary:

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Language Instruction Specialist to join our team as a Supply Instructor for International Languages. As a Supply Instructor, you will work on an as-needed basis, delivering language instruction when regular instructors are unavailable.

Under the direction of the Principal, Continuing and Community Education, you will be responsible for delivering the Board's International Languages program in one of the following languages: Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Tagalog, Spanish, Mandarin, and Ukrainian.

Instruction will be delivered in a Barrie-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver language instruction to students in a Barrie-based setting
  • Work under the direction of the Principal, Continuing and Community Education
  • Deliver the Board's International Languages program in one of the following languages: Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Tagalog, Spanish, Mandarin, and Ukrainian
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other instructors and education staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children in a learning environment
  • Proven ability to work in both a co-operative and independent environment
  • Demonstrated time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Previous experience with Continuing Education is an asset
  • First Aid Certification is an asset
