Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide life skills training to patients, including daily living skills and personal care.
  • Assist with discharge planning and coordination.
  • Facilitate group meetings and activities, promoting a supportive and therapeutic environment.
  • Monitor patient attendance and engagement in treatment programs.
  • Support patients with emotional regulation and crisis management.
  • Administer medications as directed by clinical staff.
  • Conduct regular facility checks, ensuring patient safety and security.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in in-service training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Certificate in a related healthcare field or equivalent experience.
  • Trauma-informed training and experience an asset.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
