Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide life skills training to patients, including daily living skills and personal care.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordination.
- Facilitate group meetings and activities, promoting a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Monitor patient attendance and engagement in treatment programs.
- Support patients with emotional regulation and crisis management.
- Administer medications as directed by clinical staff.
- Conduct regular facility checks, ensuring patient safety and security.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in in-service training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Certificate in a related healthcare field or equivalent experience.
- Trauma-informed training and experience an asset.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
