Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communication Line Technician to join our team at PT PROTECH TELECOM LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and instructing apprentices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults and complete and maintain test and service reports.
  • Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to install and maintain equipment.
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets, and install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems, including splicing, joining, and connecting wires.
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers, and repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
  • Permanent employment with 40 hours per week.
  • Fluency in English as the primary language of work.
