Main Responsibilities:

  • Apply Canadian and American taxation laws to identify non-respect cases, incorrect application, and interpretation and non-compliance issues.
  • Provide clear internal communication on various Canadian and American taxation issues.
  • Offer compliance and planning services to Canadian businesses with commercial activities in the US.
  • Offer taxation and estate planning advice to American citizens living in Canada and to Canadian citizens working or with commercial activities in the US, or investing in US assets.
  • Participate in dispute analysis and settlements with tax authorities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for clients to maximize business opportunities.
  • Identify and document various tax positions, including risk analysis.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and trusts; and other tax forms.
  • Produce various tax researches (Canadian and American taxation).
  • Find answers to Canadian and American taxation questions.
  • Document researches with tax notes or clients' memos.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of needs and met/expected issues, in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Canadian and American taxation training content.
  • Act as an internal facilitator.
