Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at CCI Inc. As a Junior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking field and office work related to geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct field investigations and laboratory testing to gather data and information for geotechnical projects.
  2. Supervise and assist with the operation of geotechnical drilling and sampling equipment, including UTV mounted drill rigs and hand augers.
  3. Review and analyze soil and bedrock samples, and assist with computer modeling to support senior individuals with their projects.
  4. Assist with data entry and documentation quality control, and provide support with proposals, reports, and field planning.
  5. Meet project deadlines and quality requirements, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Geotechnical studies or Civil Engineering Degree, with an interest in the geological/geotechnical engineering specialization.
  2. Certified Engineering Technologist certification will be considered.
  3. Working towards or currently holds registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Geologist-in-Training (E.I.T/G.I.T) in Alberta (APEGA)
  4. An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude.
  5. Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills.
  6. Willingness to learn and take additional responsibilities.
  7. Has a current Driver's license and supply a clean driver's abstract.
  8. Willing to supply a Negative 12-panel Drug and Alcohol test upon hire.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in an office and field environment, with regular travel to project sites.
