Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Retail FP&A, SG&A to join our team at Loblaw Companies Ltd - Head Office. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the reporting, planning, and analysis of stores' selling, general, and administrative expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support stakeholders in Operations, Real Estate, Marketing, Category Management, and Loss Prevention to understand business drivers and generate data-driven insights to support business decisions related to SG&A.
- Complete the Common Year Plan process for SG&A accounts by working with stakeholders to incorporate various store SG&A savings initiatives and ensure key plan assumptions are included.
- Complete periodic forecast requirements for SG&A accounts using current and historical performance trends and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Develop performance tracking reports to analyze key store cost savings initiatives and provide insights to business leads and senior management on opportunities and risks.
- Complete period-end close requirements for stores' selling, general, and administrative expenses by ensuring P&L and balance sheet accuracy and completeness.
- Mentor and coach team members in achieving their goals and IDPs, provide feedback, and drive engagement.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks and workload.
- Ability to manage, manipulate, and analyze data to identify and quantify business opportunities and risks.
- Attention to detail and appreciation for thorough checks.
- Business acumen and knowledge of accounting guidelines, principles, and procedures.
- Strong leader and team player with the ability to collaborate, coach, and develop talent.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work with varying exceptions.
- Professional manner, tact, and discretion in dealing with colleagues, including senior management.
Education and Experience:
University degree in Business or Accounting with CPA qualification an asset. Greater than three years in finance, accounting, business, or equivalent experience.
Working Conditions:
Work is mainly performed in a comfortable office environment with minimal exposure to dust, fumes, temperature variance, and other sensory attributes. Level of noise at any given time is mild to moderate, and frequent interruptions may occur.
