About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Artisan to join our team at marché du faubourg Sainte-Julie INC. as a Pastry Maker. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality pastries, bread, and other baked goods for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Production: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Baking and Decorating: Bake mixed dough and batters, prepare special orders, frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Housekeeping: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Operate machinery and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Customer Service: Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods, providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Baker Trade Certification and Baker Red Seal Certificate.
  • Language: Fluency in French.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, excellent oral communication, judgement, reliability, team player, and patience.
