About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Model Validation & Analytics team at Sun Life of Canada - Corporate. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting independent validations of complex mathematical, statistical, and actuarial models used across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk-based validation of models to ensure transparency and understanding of model risks.
  • Identify key risks associated with models and develop a validation approach and scope.
  • Design, implement, and conduct validation tests, and draft a Model Validation report.
  • Communicate model issues to model owners and stakeholders, and provide constructive challenges and recommendations to mitigate model risk.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide advice and guidance on model validation processes and requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge in a quantitative discipline with a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience.
  • A master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or mathematical finance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk measures, stochastic modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, Python, MATLAB, R, or C/C++.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with multiple priorities.
