Role Responsibilities

We are in search of exceptional talent to enhance our Buildings division and spearhead innovative projects across diverse sectors such as healthcare, education, hospitality, recreation, entertainment, retail, commercial office, mixed-use, multi-family residential, and light industrial.

The Senior Community Planner will be tasked with:

  • Establishing project schedules for highly complex initiatives under the guidance of the Planning/Scheduling Manager.
  • Maintaining schedules of varying complexity levels and preparing 3-week look-ahead plans.
  • Creating advanced schedule performance reports and dashboards.
  • Managing extension of time claims and conducting intricate delay analyses.
  • Assisting with project budgeting, change management, and cash flow assessments.
Key Duties

Specific duties include:

  • Preparing the master schedule for complex projects in alignment with contract stipulations.
  • Building relationships with clients or client scheduling consultants to establish baseline schedules.
  • Negotiating detailed scheduling specifications tailored to project complexity.
  • Updating schedules, including cash flow updates, in accordance with Graham Management System guidelines.
  • Integrating risk registers and labor productivity reviews into the scheduling process.
Performance Reporting

Regularly publishing a Schedule Performance Report that encompasses:

  • Progress dashboards
  • Earned Value Analysis/Schedule Performance Index
  • S-curves and Heatmaps
  • Milestone Trend Analysis and Variance Analysis
  • Identifying areas of concern and mentoring junior planners/schedulers in report development.
Collaboration and Leadership

Fostering collaboration with:

  • Subtrades and field superintendents for schedule input and look-aheads.
  • Leading the planning and documentation processes across design, procurement, construction, and permitting.
  • Mentoring junior planners/schedulers as necessary.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A diploma from a college or technical school.
  • A minimum of 5 years of planning/scheduling experience in commercial building projects.
  • Experience across various delivery methods such as EPC, Design-Build, CM, and PPP.
  • Familiarity with different delay analysis techniques.
  • General contractor experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project, Tilos, Powerproject, and vPlanner is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce professional reports and analyses.
