Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join our team at CB Canada. As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies for obtaining environmental regulatory authorizations and responding to public, regulatory, and legislative scrutiny of project environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Planning and Permitting: Develop and implement strategies for obtaining environmental regulatory authorizations and responding to public, regulatory, and legislative scrutiny of project environmental issues.
  • Negotiation and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and implement negotiating strategies to influence regulatory initiatives and industry standards, and work closely with internal project teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Project Management: Provide project management for permitting and compliance work for complex and large projects, including strategic planning, execution planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Technical Review and Compliance: Conduct technical reviews, document reviews, and review environmental impact and mitigation planning to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Inspection and Community Engagement: Support regulatory inspection and community engagement on project sites to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in environmental planning and permitting, with a focus on the pipeline industry.
  • Education: A degree or diploma in a related field, such as environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Skills: Experienced in creating environmental permits and environmental protection plans, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Assets: Experience working with the National Energy Board and knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
