About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our School Age Care team as a Float Staff member. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children aged 5-12 at our Parkgate Community Centre and Seymour Centre locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children, promoting a fun and engaging atmosphere.
  • Guide children's behavior in a positive and respectful manner, fostering a sense of self-worth and confidence.
  • Ensure the children's environment is safe and healthy, adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and children, demonstrating respect, transparency, and professionalism.
  • Contribute to the efficient and professional operation of our Child Care Programs, working collaboratively with the team to achieve our goals.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of child development principles and practices, including the needs of children with special requirements.
  • Ability to exercise patience and consistency in behavior management, creating a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development, attending courses and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Understanding of EDI principles and a commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
What We Offer
  • A competitive hourly wage of $19.00 - $21.00.
  • A part-time contract with 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
