About the Role

Parkgate Community Services Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Age Care Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Child Care department, you will be responsible for planning and leading an inclusive before and after school age care program for children aged 5-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of child care staff to deliver high-quality programs and services.
  • Develop and implement a positive and engaging community culture that values professional standards and practices.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of all children in the program.
  • Manage the daily operations of the child care center, including staff scheduling, training, and development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar or related environment or role, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting children with specific inclusion needs.
  • Strong abilities and experience in team leadership and staff supervision.
  • Proven abilities to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication, writing, planning, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Strong ability to make effective decisions independently when needed.
  • A good knowledge of available community resources.
What We Offer
  • Full-time permanent supervisory position, based on 7 hours per day / 35 hours per week.
  • Flexibility with evenings and some weekends will be required.
  • Full employee benefits coverage.
  • Three weeks or 15 days vacation per annum.
  • $500 professional development allowance per annum.
  • Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (commensurate with qualifications & experience).
