Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at The Host Fine Indian Cuisine. As a key member of our restaurant operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our kitchen and front-of-house areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring that food is prepared and served to the highest standards.
    • Train and develop staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
    • Hire and manage food service staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Operations and Logistics
    • Establish and manage work schedules to meet business needs.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and orders are fulfilled efficiently.
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, and other key performance indicators.
  • Customer Service and Quality Control
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, addressing customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
    • Prepare food order summaries for the chef, ensuring that orders are accurate and fulfilled to the highest standards.
  • Administrative and Financial
    • Prepare and manage budgets and cost estimates, ensuring that financial targets are met.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for business decision-making.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
    • 2-3 years of experience in a food service or restaurant management role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain high standards in the kitchen and front-of-house areas.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
