The Clinical Supervisor will be a key member of the Alberta Health Services team, providing leadership and supervision to clinicians and interns in the Red Deer Children's Addiction and Mental Health portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day oversight to clinicians and interns, ensuring excellence in professional practice and quality patient-centered care.
- Supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet regulatory requirements for practice, and/or unregulated staff providing psychosocial interventions.
- Observe clinical sessions, review clinical documentation, and conduct team case consultations to support clinical staff.
- Provide guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community.
- Identify and address gaps in clinical practice, as well as facilitate addressing of system-level gaps and risk management issues.
- Support leadership in the hiring, orientation, and performance evaluation of clinical staff.
- 5 years post-licensure completion under the Health Professions Act.
- Ability to supervise Provisional Clinicians and Masters-level interns.
- Master's degree in a counselling-related field.
- Knowledge and experience working in a clinical supervisory position.
- Experience working with children, youth, and families.
- Experience in developing clinicians and supervising multiple students and provisional clinicians.
