We're seeking a skilled Claims Consultant to join our National EBI/Energy Specialty Claims team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and investigate complex large loss claims through various distribution channels.
- Handle first-party and third-party claims with exposures in Canada and internationally.
- Collaborate with consultants, adjusters, accountants, and engineers to determine liability and assess damages.
- Mentor and guide regional file handlers to ensure consistent claims handling.
- Train colleagues on complex claims handling and provide technical advice.
- Work with Underwriting and Loss Prevention to identify potential risks and trends.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Meet key performance indicators related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, and expense management.
- 10+ years of experience in direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims, with a minimum of 5 years in equipment breakdown and energy claims.
- Technical expertise in property claims, with a focus on equipment breakdown and energy.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively.
- Strong collaboration and mentoring skills, with a passion for coaching others.
- Appropriate knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements.
- Undergraduate degree or CIP designation (asset).
