Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our Paediatrics Diabetes and Bariatric Centre team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality professional nutritional care and counseling to patients and their families, consistent with the hospital's philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess individual needs and extent of nutrition care required
- Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate nutrition care provided
- Promote self-care by encouraging a sense of responsibility and promoting a positive attitude towards the acceptance of diabetes
- Collaborate with other team members and/or outside agencies contributing to a total client care approach to diabetes management
- Educate and counsel clients/families individually and in groups to assess relevant information and formulate a nutrition-care plan
- Establish goal-oriented treatment interventions
- Document care and treatment plans in the health record and to the referring physician/agency as necessary
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field and a graduate of an Accredited Dietetic Internship program
- Current member of the Ontario College of Dietitians
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) status preferred/achieved within 1 year of employment
- Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE) status preferred/achieved within 1 year of employment
- Membership in the Dietitians of Canada considered an asset
