Position Summary
CareRx, a prominent provider of specialized pharmacy services for seniors in Canada, is seeking a dedicated Registered Pharmacy Technician. Our organization is committed to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to over 96,000 residents across various senior living communities, including long-term care homes and assisted living facilities.
Role Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Registered Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise dispensing of prescriptions. This position demands adherence to provincial and federal regulations governing pharmacy practices, while also prioritizing patient care and effective communication in a dynamic environment.
Key Duties Include:
- Collaborating with pharmacy team members to guarantee accurate and timely medication dispensing, enhancing resident health outcomes.
- Executing daily pharmacy operations in line with established protocols and procedures.
- Addressing any unresolved issues with the pharmacy management team to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Upholding professionalism in communications with the resident care team, ensuring high standards of customer service and pharmacy quality.
- Maintaining organized and comprehensive resident health records to support continuity of care.
- Adhering to all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations consistently.
- Assisting in the management and oversight of pharmacy inventory.
- Participating in the training and development of new and existing pharmacy staff as needed.
- Engaging in ongoing professional education to stay updated on pharmaceutical practices and corporate policies.
- Preparing and compounding medications as required.
- Ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- A diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (RPhT).
- Familiarity with eMAR systems and experience with Kroll is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster team relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A detail-oriented approach to work.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Understanding of regulations related to long-term care and retirement communities.
- A commitment to achieving high-quality results.
