Civil Engineering Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team at West Hants Regional Municipality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine structural dimensions and material requirements.
  • Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations.
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
  • Develop project schedules.
  • Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations, and testing of construction materials.
Requirements:
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information System (GIS), AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Experience in waste handling sites, drainage and irrigation systems, sewers and sewage treatment facilities, water control systems, and structures.
  • Specialization in water resources.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, handle heavy loads, and maintain attention to detail.
