The Pharmacy Technician operates in alignment with the competency standards and practice guidelines set forth by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, adhering to organizational policies and unit-specific protocols.

Your responsibilities will include processing medication orders that have been clinically evaluated for therapeutic suitability and sanctioned by a Pharmacist. You will receive both verbal and written prescriptions from healthcare providers, ensuring their completeness and authenticity. Additionally, you will prepare, process, and compound prescriptions.

It is essential to verify the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by yourself or others, including conducting final checks on dispensed medications. You will also manage prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves and facilitate the transfer of prescriptions to and from other pharmacies. Accurate entry and maintenance of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system is crucial, along with managing stock levels and performing assigned clerical tasks.


Compensation:

The new wage is set at: $34.18/hour.


Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, with shifts from 07:30 to 15:30 or 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with others.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
