Data Science Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Data Scientist to join our Security Solutions Data Science team at Mastercard. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models that power our flagship product.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of data scientists in delivering production-quality fraud models that run in real-time to screen transaction networks.
- Collaborate with business owners to understand business requirements and performance metrics related to data quality and model performance.
- Design and implement data pipelines for model building and performance evaluation.
- Develop and maintain modern machine learning and AI models for specific products.
- Oversee the implementation of models and evaluate their performance based on business metrics.
- Extensive data science experience and significant leadership roles.
- Demonstrated full lifecycle model development, deployment, and evaluation for complex problems.
- Experience with SQL language and technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, and Databricks.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Bash environment and Python.
- XGBoost and good communication skills.
- Highly skilled problem solver with a high degree of initiative.
- At least an undergraduate degree in CS or a related STEM field.
- Prior experience in payment fraud detection modeling.
- PhD/Master's in CS, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related STEM field.
- Experience in data engineering and model building in PySpark using Spark ML on petabyte-scale data.
- Understanding and implementation of methods to evaluate own work and others for bias, inaccuracy, and error.
