Automation and Controls Technician

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Automation and Controls Technician to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of automated industrial machinery.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Test, troubleshoot, and implement new processes to improve equipment reliability and uptime
* Install retrofits to existing systems and diagnose hardware, software, and instrument problems
* Support start-up activities and create and maintain automation processes
* Oversee testing procedures, write reports, and ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
* Install, diagnose, and fix programmable logic controllers and other devices that operate automated equipment
* PLC, robot, and HMI programming, implementation, and troubleshooting
* Perform preventative maintenance of production and support equipment
* Repair equipment and assist in proper maintenance of all programming software, application files, and programming hardware

**Working Conditions**

* Physical ability to lift 60lbs
* Manual dexterity
* Overtime as required
* Industrial workplace, where PPE is required
* Support 3 shift operation

**Requirements**

* Graduate of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology (Robot and Automation Program)
* Manufacturing experience and strong technical knowledge in the programming, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment
* Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Robotics (Nachi, ABB, Fanuc), HMI programming, Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence, Omron)
* Superior analytical capabilities
* Problem-solving and decision-making
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to manage multiple projects
