Position Overview: Under the guidance of the District Child Welfare Service Manager, the Regional Child Welfare Coordinator is tasked with ensuring the safety and well-being of children by executing responsibilities related to Protection, Child Care, and Emergency After Hours as necessary, in alignment with the Child and Family Services Act, relevant Ministry Regulations and Standards, Abuse Protocols, Risk Assessment Tools, and the policies and procedures of Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a vital resource for Family Support Workers in the areas of Prevention and Family Support Services.

Employment Details:

Qualifications:

  • A minimum diploma in Native Child and Family Services or Social Service Work is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may also be considered, provided there is relevant work experience.
  • At least two years of experience working with Anishinabek children, youth, individuals, and families is preferred.
  • Experience in Child Welfare is highly desirable.
  • Candidates lacking specific educational qualifications but possessing a suitable combination of experience and other academic credentials may also be considered.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility in working hours is essential, along with regular travel and availability for on-call duties as determined by the Service Manager based on service needs.
  • A valid Class G Driver's License and access to a reliable personal vehicle with a minimum of $1 million liability insurance are mandatory.
