Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join our team at Pharmascience. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex analytical tasks and ensuring the highest level of quality in our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct physical and chemical testing of finished products to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.
  • Develop and implement action plans to investigate discrepancies between targeted and actual results.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement quality control measures and ensure the use of current versions of specifications and methods.
  • Program and operate data acquisition systems to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Share observations with the team to suggest ideas for improvement and report any discrepancies between targeted and actual results.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement program using available tools and techniques.
  • Perform complex analyses, including unstable solutions, refractive index detection, derivatization, and difficult extractions.
  • Operate complex techniques, including UPLC, Conductivity Detector (Dionex), and Gas Chromatography.
  • Assist and train analysts on specific techniques and participate in the drafting or commenting of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure full compliance with Good Laboratory Practice guidelines and HSE standards.
Requirements
  • College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor's degree (BAC) in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or chemistry/biology techniques.
  • Knowledge of current laboratory technologies and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.
  • Proficiency in the use of Empower II (Waters), LIMS (Labware), and Microsoft World and Excel software.
  • Ability to analyze problems, plan and organize effectively, and communicate clearly and transparently.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and government guidelines is an asset.
